Communal Satellite Dish Points

Posted on 13 June 2011 By TV and Tech No Comments on Communal Satellite Dish Points

Question

We live in a flat with a communal satellite dish. Will a Freesat box work if i plug it straight in to the terminal.

There is no switch that needs to be turned on it. Should work straight away?

Our Answer

Both Freesat and Sky Digital should work with a communal dish, assuming that the satellite TV point has been wired up correctly to the satellite dish.

In most cases, it will simply work – there’s no switch needed. It does depend how the building owner / landlord has set things up. If you find that the point doesn’t work – talk to the person or company responsible for the communal dish.
